Biography
The Artist
„For me, painting is the space between the visible world and the world of the senses — I try to capture that distance."
László Dervanics is a visual artist and decorative painter whose oil paintings straddle the boundary between abstraction and figurative art — in a distinctive warm-brown colour palette. He discovered his passion for painting whilst still a teenager, through lessons with András Bubelényi and Miklós Kovrig.
Decorative wall painting plays a significant role in his work: in homes, shops, restaurants and offices, he creates unique, hand-painted murals, decorative paintings and ornamental designs — using acrylic and emulsion paints of lasting quality.
His works are characterised by inspiration drawn from the National Gallery, a love of Hungarian folk motifs and Art Nouveau patterns. His works have been exhibited in Budapest, Germany and Switzerland and are held in private collections across Europe.

The Artists’ World
László Dervanics’ paintings are characterised by warm shades of brown, ochre and sienna, enriched by dramatic contours and subtle golden accents. The abstract and the figurative blend organically — not in opposition to one another, but in harmony with one another.
As well as oil painting, he also undertakes large-scale mural projects: on plasterboard, rendered or smooth-finished walls, both indoors and outdoors. The style of the murals ranges from abstract and modern to classical and Baroque motifs, right through to street art elements.
